POPPY NICHOLS
ASSISTANT DISTRICT ATTORNEY

Poppy Nichols

Raised as an orphan until she was adopted at the age of thirteen by Grace MacDonald, Poppy Nichols wanted to discover her biological family and learn why her parents abandoned her. A gift of a DNA test kit upon her graduation from law school could be a blessing, or is it a curse? It changes her course in life as she accepts a new job as an Assistant District Attorney in a large parish in Louisiana based on her newly found family.

Once on the job, she is placed in the middle of a long-standing feud between the Lewis and McKay families, who live on opposite sides of the Sabine River—the Lewises in Texas and the McKays in Louisiana. Her first assignment is to find out who killed the youngest son of Rufus Lewis. She is joined by her newly found cousin, Elizabeth Weaver, U.S. Deputy Marshall.

Can they locate the killer and quell the conflict? Or are they thrust into an impossible situation? Join Poppy on her journey as she and Elizabeth investigate a murder and discover love, family, and friendship along the way.
